November 11, 2009 (Kearny, NJ) Veterans Day is a solemn day. It is a day in which we give thanks to those who have served our country in the armed forces, those who gave the supreme sacrifice for their country, and for those who are still serving our country today. It is very important to recognize those who have fallen in all wars for our country. Their sacrifice has insured that we enjoy the freedom of the United States. Please take a moments this November 11th to remember those who have fallen serving our country.

November 6, 2009 (Kearny, NJ) Our Poll on which local Police Department is the best is completed. The Kearny Police Department received 23 votes (52.3%), Harrison received 10 (22.7%), East Newark 6 (13.6%) and North Arlington 5 (11.4%). A total of 44 persons participated in the poll. Not exactly a large sampling of KOTW's community but congratulations to the Kearny Police Department. It is appropriate that Kearny's Police Department won the poll because this is KearnyOnTheWeb after all.

This weeks Poll is, Should KOTW receive a link on Kearny's official Town website?

November 8, 2009 (Harrison, NJ) The Harrison Fire Department with the assistance of Jersey City, Kearny, East Newark and Secaucus fire fighters extinguished a blaze at 405 and 407 Scott Mobus Place in Harrison. The initial investigation into the fire has determined that a roofer started the blaze in one of the attached row houses and the fire spread to the other house.

November 6, 2009 (Kearny, NJ) It has been almost a week since KOTW launched its new website. On the right margin there is a poll about which town has the best police department. The poll is unscientific but right now the Kearny Police Department leads in the poll. If you have not voted, you have until tonight to cast your vote. The poll will close at 10 p.m. tonight.

Next weeks poll is whether you think that KOTW should get a link on Kearny's Official Town website.
