February 20,2012 (North Arlington, NJ) Earlier today a military funeral was held at Queen of Peace Church in North Arlington for Lance Corporal Osbrany Montes de Oca of North Arlington. Montes de Oca, 20, was a Lance Corpal with the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment , 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force. Over 1500 mourners packed the Queen of Peace church and others lined Ridge Road in North Arlington outside the church and along the route to the North Arlington Cemetary.

Governor Chris Christie entered an executive order that all flags be flown half staff tomorrow in the State of New Jersey in honor of Montes de Oca. Christie has been criticized for his executive order last week to fly flags half staff for Whitney Houston. Christie has entered executive orders to fly flags half staff in honor of soldiers from New Jersey who are killed in action.

Montes de Oca died Feb. 10 in combat operations in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan was based out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Among the mourners were several elected official including U.S. Reps. Bill Pascrell and Steve Rothman, and Governor Chris Christie.
