September 10,2011 (Kearny, NJ). As our community, the nation and the world remember the tenth anniversary of 9/11, KOTW takes a moment to reflect on the events of September 11, 2001. The beauty of September 11, 2001's beautiful blue skies and pleasant fall weather was transformed into a emotion filled day when two planes were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Even now it seems surreal that the events of 9/11 actually happened. Each person who experienced the event know where they were when they heard the news. The lives of several of our local residents lost their lives in the World Trade Center attack.

Shortly after the attacks, KOTW installed a subtle link to the National 9/11 Memorial Website with a picture of the blue lights installed where the World Trade Center once stood. Above the picture we simply put "Let Us Not Forget". We wanted individuals to find the link to the National 9/11 Memorial Website if they thought to click on the picture. On occasion we would click on the link to remember those who lost their lives and the families who had to endure the loss of their family member or friend. Today, we clicked and the sheer volume of traffic to the website has caused the website to be extremely slow. The link will always be part of KearnyOnTheWeb so if you cannot get to the website today, click on it in the days, weeks, months and years to come. If possible, make a donation. KOTW takes a moment to remember September 11, 2001 today. The Newark Star Ledger put together a video which documents the relationship between New Jersey and New York's World Trade Center. The video brings back many memories of the day and the emotions as well.

The following West Hudson residents died on September 11th: From Kearny: Thomas G. Sullivan and Judith Ann Reese. From Harrison: Fabian Soto. And neighboring North Arlington: Joseph Piskaldo.
