May 16, 2010 (Harrison, NJ) A suspicious package underneath the Amtrak/Path train trestle on South Frank E. Rodgers Blvd in Harrison caused some traffic delays on Rodgers Blvd. and some Red Bulls fans to be late to yesterday's game. The Port Authority Police along with the Harrison Police Department investigated the package and determined that it posed no danger to pedestrians or the rail riders.

Police authorities and the general public have become increasingly suspicious of packages since the attempted bombing in Time Square in New York a couple of weeks back. There has been some concern expressed about the proximity of the Red Bulls stadium to a major natural gas line which runs from South Frank E. Rodgers Blvd and along Cape May Street in Harrison. The area where the suspicious package was found in proximity to the underground natural gas line. The Red Bulls stadium however is several city blocks away from the location.

Anyone who has a concern about any suspicious activity is asked to call the Harrison Police Department at (973) 483-4100 or the Port Authority Police Department at (800) 823-7273.
