April 4, 2010 (Kearny, NJ) Incumbent candidate Bernadette McDonald has taken the lead in our Kearny Board of Education poll. The lead however has come under attack by supporters of John Munro who contend that the number of votes cast in a span of two hours on Easter Sunday is evidence of vote tampering.
KOTW recognizes that our Polling is not exactly scientific. Someone who wants to bypass our one vote per day policy can with a little effort. Even without bypassing our one vote per day policy, individuals can vote more than once by visiting the site everyday or by using a second computer on the same day.
It is obvious that with the number of votes cast in a two hour period that one of our computer savvy visitors figured out how to bypass our one vote per day policy and voted for his/her favorite. Incumbent Bernadette McDonald was the beneficiary of those votes moving her into a sizable lead in first place. Some have suggested that incumbent Bernadette McDonald campaign was responsible for bypassing our system. There is no evidence that McDonald requested or sought to bypass our system. It is clear that someone with a little computer savvy thought that their favorite candidate should win the KOTW poll.
The Kearny Election poll will end tonight (Monday night). The Poll may not be a good predictor of who will win the Kearny School Board Election but it has spurred a lot of interest in KOTW and the Kearny School Board Election.
