Rose Duger of the Kearny Journal covered the story in an article entitled Franklin School may become middle school. Last week's Observer ran a story written by Karen Zautyk entitled The Matter of a Middle School for Kearny in which Superintendent of School's Frank Digesere was deflecting blame from the Board of Education. Participants on KOTW's Discussion were quick to pick up on the Superintendent's angle towards helping the incumbents who are up for election. The Middle School could be an issue that brings concerned parents out on Election Day. A larger turnout, in an election that traditionally has low voter turnout, could spell doom for incumbents who are linked to the Middle School proposal.

KOTW will continue to provide a forum for open discussions of the issues affecting Kearny. Our Discussion Board has been ahead of the curve when it comes to topical issues affecting the West Hudson community. The Middle School controversy came to light first on our Discussion Board.
