February 6, 2010 (Kearny NJ) Residents of West Hudson went to sleep expecting to be shoveling snow and digging out of a major snow storm which hit the east coast. Residents however were pleasantly surprised to find that there was no significant snow fall. Forecasters had predicted that northern New Jersey would receive between 1 to 6 inches of snow. South Jersey received upwards of 18 inches of snow. The nation's capital received upwards of 20 inches of snow.

Public Works crews from Harrison, Kearny, East Newark and North Arlington were ready to clear the streets but as midnight came and went without snow it was evident that West Hudson would be spared a major snow storm. The added benefit of a minor snow storm is cost savings to each town's snow budget.
