November 1, 2009 (Kearny, NJ)Tuesday November 3rd is Election Day. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In the race for New Jersey Governor Republican challenger Chris Christie is neck in neck with incumbent Governor Jon Corzine after leading for much of the race in the polls. Independent Chris Daggett is making a good showing for an Independent but some have faulted him for taking votes away from Christie.

The only contested races locally are the Kearny Mayoral race and the Kearny 3rd Ward. Kearny Mayor Alberto Santos is being challenged by former Councilman John Leadbeater. Incumbent Third Ward Councilwoman Carol Doyle is being challenged by Board of Education member John Campbell in the Third Ward. There has been some heated commentary on our Discussion Board on both races.

What's your opinion. Express it by submitting an Article for Publication or express it on our Discussion Board.

Whatever you do don't forget to vote.
