July 4, 2009 (Kearny NJ) KOTW wishes everyone a Happy 4th of July.  Kearny's Mayor and Council are expecting the best Independence Day Celebration in the Town's history tonight on Veteran's Field on Belgrove Drive.

Sylvester, Tweety Bird, Scooby Doo are scheduled to show up at 6:30 p.m. Sponge Bob said that he's going to be a little late but he would not miss the festivities since the weather is suppose to be perfect for fireworks.  He's tired by soaking up all the rain we've had this month.

Gracies and Whistles, the clowns will be entertaining children and adults with their baloon art, mime acts and of course some clowning arounds.

Pony rides, inflatable slides and moon walk will also be available to the children.

The Garden State Concert Band will play starting at 7:00 p.m setting the patriotic mood for the fireworks which launch off at 9:00 p.m.

The best location to see the fireworks is in Veterans Field which is between Bergen and Afton Streets.

Come early because Passaic Avenue and Belgrove Drive and many side streets will be closed to traffic.
