March 10, 2014 (Kearny, NJ) In October 1973, four clubs: The Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 7, The Irish American Club, The Four Provinces, and The Friends of Erin came together to form the United Irish Association.

The first parade organized by this new association was in 1974. The founding members were: John Evans, Bob Reid, Desmond Boomer, Bob Carney, Dennis Smith, Ike O'Hagan, Frank Morgan and Eugene Docherty.



The tradition of holding the St. Patrick's Day parade through the streets of Harrison, East Newark and Kearny continues this coming Sunday, March 16, 2014 starting on Harrison and North 3rd Street in Harrison NJ starting at 2 p.m.

The Grand Marshals for the 2014 United Irish St. Patrick's Day Parade is Joseph P. McGonigal Jr.

The Deputy Grand Marshalls Lawrence J. Handin and Carol Manley.

The Annual Fundraiser was held on March 1, 2014 at the Boystown Hall on Belgrove Drive in Kearny and attended by a large crowd composed of members, residents and elected officials. For more information, visit the United Irish Facebook page by clicking here.
