July 4, 2009 (Kearny NJ) KOTW wishes everyone a Happy 4th of July.  Kearny's Mayor and Council are expecting the best Independence Day Celebration in the Town's history tonight on Veteran's Field on Belgrove Drive.

Sylvester, Tweety Bird, Scooby Doo are scheduled to show up at 6:30 p.m. Sponge Bob said that he's going to be a little late but he would not miss the festivities since the weather is suppose to be perfect for fireworks.  He's tired by soaking up all the rain we've had this month.

Gracies and Whistles, the clowns will be entertaining children and adults with their baloon art, mime acts and of course some clowning arounds.

According to one news report: "The accident happened at 10 a.m. when a truck driver from Universal Chemical of South Kearny, N.J., was delivering sodium hypochlorite to the Normandy Village pool, a chemical compound popularly known as chlorine and used as a disinfectant in swimming pools.

"When the guy hooked up to the connection, he saw that it was leaking and shut it off as quickly as he could," said John Kryger, deputy fire coordinator for Rockland County.

July 14, 2009 (Kearny NJ)  Earlier this week, KOTW signed up to follow both Christopher Christie's and Jon Corzine's Twitter pages.  Christie then began to follow KOTW on Twitter.  As of today, Jon Corzine has not.  Should we infer something from the above facts.  Does it simply mean that Christopher Christie is more open to the use of technology to reach potential voters.  Or should we infer that Jon Corzine doesn't appreciate the opinions expressed on KOTW.  Or is it simply that the staff member on Christie's campaign staff is just on top of it while Corzine's isn't.
