 Alberto Santos has been re-elected to an historic fifth term as Kearny's Mayor defeating challenger John Leadbeater. Santos attributed his victory to the hard work that his administration has done throughout his administration. Republican challenger John Leadbeater had a larger voter turnout than expected but fell short of upsetting the incumbent. Mayor McDonough stands up for four minutes before he leaves the Council chambers in June of 2008. McDonough repeated his Council Chamber walk out in the regular and the special meetings of the Mayor and Council this month (October 2009). At the October 26, 2009 meeting, McDonough got up and adjourned the meeting in the middle of Councilman Steve McCormick's questioning. The KOTW shouldn’t be in the town website, anyone can say anything here good or bad though mostly bad. The town web site is a place where one can get information about the town and should put a positive light on the town. In the KOTW anyone can say anything without any fact check. I posted an article about my friend / coworker that died and underneath my post it still say’s “Reason for edit: KOTW Note: The above information has not been confirmed. “ It was posted in the Observer and anyone can call the town itself to get it verified yet it still has the statement. If companies really believe half the stuff they post in here no one will ever want to come to Kearny let alone live here. My job is to help the town and employees, do you think it would be wise to post a website were anyone can say anything without any fact checking. There one article here in the forum about the town getting sue for 25 million dollars, but for some reason it miss all the papers. KOTW link is posted in the library website because the library is for community discussion good or bad. PollsRed Bulls Stadium It was a sunny and glorious day for the Red Bulls stadium opening. The opening game came after a "soft" opening game was canceled just a week before. The contrast between a stormy and raining day versus a sunny and glorious day for the stadium's grand opening. Traffic was of course backed up throughout the Town of Harrison and the adjacent Ironbound Section of Newark. What can you expect when planned roads were not built. Security at the stadium is still an issue according to our sources. In addition, Red Bull fans apparently were attempting to have tailgate parties in various locations in Harrison. The Red Bulls have no official designated area for tailgate parties. Harrison isn't the Giant Stadium parking lot and officials are expected to step up enforcement of the town's no drinking in public town ordinance. Advertisement     |

KearnyOnTheWeb's Discussion Board has been a hit from its introduction almost ten years ago. KOTW's policy of attempting to not edit posts and allowing Guest posters has led to some very interesting discussions of issues effecting our local community, our nation and the world.
KOTW recommends that posters become Members. Membership is free. A Member can register under their real name or an anonymous name. Being a Member gives you additional privileges including an indication of new posts, ability to add Calendar events to our Community Calendar, and email and messaging services within KOTW.
