March 30, 2011 (Kearny, NJ) Film maker Vic Losick has released his documentary film, In God We Teach, which covers the events surrounding the controversial statements made by Kearny High School Teacher David Paszkiewicz in a history class that lead to intense discussions on KearnyOnTheWeb about separation of church and state.
A preview of the film is available on the film's website, In God We Teach. The website however does not have a listing of screenings as of this article. The preview is interesting and captures some of the tension between the Mathew LaClair supporters and the David Paszkiewicz supporters. KOTW wonders if it will receive any credit for its role in fostering discussions on the separation of church and state. Those discussions are still available on our website. To view those discussion please visit our Discussion Board. Please expand your search criteria to include items from 2006 (the year that the events took place) to view the discussion threads.

March 19, 2011 (Harrison, NJ) The Red Bulls and the Major League Soccer opener is scheduled for today at 7:30 p.m.
In preparation for the Red Bulls Opener, the Town of Harrison erected decorative pedestrian barriers that are designed to direct pedestrians to official corner crossings. Last year, some fans were jaywalking across Frank E. Rodgers Blvd. in route to the stadium which given the width of the street and the heavy traffic could lead to a pedestrian being hit by a car. The Town also re-stripped traffic lanes and crosswalks to improve the flow of traffic in and out of the stadium area. Fans are also advised to take the Path train to the game to avoid traffic on local streets and Route 280.

The Town of Harrison will be enforcing its "no-parking on game day for non-residents" ordinance and handing out illegal parking tickets. Fans were taking up all the available parking on Town streets on game days which was literally preventing residents from leaving their homes on game days for fear of losing their street parking places.
The Red Bulls will be facing the Seattle Sounders. According to a Red Bulls Press Release, in 2010, New York completed the best single season turnaround in Major League Soccer history, finishing with 51 points and atop the Eastern Conference with a record of 15-9-6. At home, the Red Bulls posted a 10-3-2 record and surrendered just nine goals. The 2011 season will be the first full year for New York Designated Players Thierry Henry and Rafa Márquez, who joined the club midseason last year.
